I think magnets are a lot better than any form of advertising because you only pay for them once and they last for years. I've got magnets that have been out there for twenty years and people are still using them.

Fridge magnets are so inexpensive and they last, they last a long time. You don't need to renew any of the stock. People will pick them up and they will generally put them on their fridge so they last for a long time and that was really what I was after when I decided to go for a fridge magnet.

We didn't find that too successful advertising in the local papers. People generally don't go there anymore.

We've just spent a lot of money in local papers and found that it's not paying. It doesn't pay to do all that stuff.

I did try magazines at the very start, a couple of magazines, advert magazines, and got very little results. I found it was money was nowhere near, it wasn't worth the cost. I found my biggest, probably my best return, was using the magnets.

We know that the flyers are chucked out, money we've spent is wasted, whereas the money we've spent with the magnets ends up on someone's fridge and patients have reported they've had them still there 10 years later.

We do send flyers out as well but we tend to find that quite often the flyers get thrown in the bin or lost whereas the fridge magnets are in a prime location for the customers. We quite often get business from their family and associated family members from that.

I guess it's the same thing as a business card. You look at it once and you throw it away, where as a magnet, it's there and it's quite handy to have the number right there and then so if you're in a panic or anything, you know it's on the fridge. You're not going to go, "Where's my flyer from last week?" I just find that it's much more effective, and it's where you know it's going to be.

Menu drops, we do both, we got magnets and we do the menu drops. Menu drops are more instantaneous, I guess, and they are like a onehit wonder. Once you send them out, a week later your forgotten about. The thing with the magnets is that they don't generally get thrown away, they stuck to the fridge and they probably stuck there for years. I know I've got magnets and they've been on my fridge for probably five years. A letterbox drop probably doesn't last that long.

It doesn't compare. The cost of the magnets compared to thousands of dollars in the Yellow Pages and you get lost like a needle in a haystack. You can't beat it, they're really good.

Well with Yellow Pages, there's dozens of people advertising there, and people do ring around. Sometimes you can lose a job for 10 dollars, were fridge magnets, once you've left it there, I think you've got that customer for life.
